I'm not familiar with that CoF running, but why is it so popular? Are the drops so good then? Isn't it just like any other dungeon?

when you run CoF, you make around 10k a run, and you can run people through for a fee. you get some decent drops, but it's a very easy dungeon to farm 600/smite style for a good profit.

When you run people, you don't get much for drops, but you do make 2.5k a person.
2.5k x 6 people (most you can take at once) = 15k + drops you do get (including 2 free golds from the end chest) + 1.5k reward = some very nice profit

Weaponry is really a personal choice - for more damage and more spelcasting, use a wand. for longer enchantments, use a sword/axe/spear with 20% enchantments. I personally used to use the Spirit of the Forgotten, a spear with +5e and 20% enchants. However, i switched to the Fiery Flame Spitter, offered by Nicanor Gannel somewhere in Ascalon. Mod it up with a 20% enchant mod, and it's absolutely the best weapon for a Spirit Bonding 55 Necro in my opinion. that HSR on Spirit Bond has saved me many a time.
EDIT: check out this wiki page for a map on how to get to Nicanor Gannel: Ironically, you can get those Scorched Lodestones by farming Old Ascalon Hulking Stone Elementals with your Necro.

i still have it, but it's not very efficient, and the SV variant is infinitely easier to use. here it is, if you want to play around with it:
16 Curse, 12 Prot
[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Shielding Hands[/skill][skill]Spirit Bond[/skill][skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill]

You forgot to mention that there is also a small chance of getting a Ruby Djinn polymock piece that last i heard of was worth 35-40K from the chest.

in Factions, i think the most profitable farm is Pongmei Valley - full inventories, plenty of golds and two bosses to boot.

Th most profitable game (in my opinion) is probably Nightfall - there are a lot of long, profitable runs to do there, and it's not tough to get through NF to start a necro.

if you're still having trouble with Nightmares in the UW, try this: pull the first aatxe groups back to benton - the ones on the left and right. for the center group + the group on the stairs, hit HB, pull, then IMMEDIATELY start running away, towards your precious Benton. If a nightmare spawns, let it rend you (it'll kill itself on rend), IMMEDIATELY recast PS, then bodyblock the aatxes. that should work. as for the two aatxes up the right set of stairs - wait for them to be at the very edge of their patrol (the edge closest to you, ofc) before pulling, and check their whole route for Nightmares. if they're standing still, it almost always means a nightmare spawn.

What happens for me when i face a DN is that i will get benton between me and the aatxe, but i will almost ALWAYS rubberband and ill be like 30 ft away from the aatxe but still getting hit, and then while im puzzled as to why this could happen i get rended and die
i dont zip back to near the aatxe like i was there the whole time but the game made it look as if i was safe (rubberbanding) so i dont really think its that, maybe internet lag?
So basically for me benton isnt reliable enough for me to use this build for this farm.
